We are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with expertise in Autism to join an exciting and committed team at Montpelier High School. We are seeking a dedicated individual who will contribute to a wide range of teaching and learning activities and assist and support the work of qualified teachers. 

The successful candidate will have:
• GCSEs at Grade C or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications).
• HLTA qualification or other relevant qualification to the role
• An understanding of the barriers to success typically experienced by young people with ASD
• An understanding of the impact of language difficulties on self-awareness, learning, and social skills development 
• An awareness that different areas of need require a different response/approach
• An understanding of the specific issues faced students and their families with SEND The ability to communicate clearly with young people in a way that takes account of their receptive language skills and emotional development
• Experience of working within a safeguarding framework, sharing information as appropriate
