HEAD OF YEAR (NON-TEACHING)

Permanent, 37 hours per week (term time only) to start as soon as possible.

Venturers Trust is a dynamic and focused multi-academy trust based in Bristol, formed in September 2017 through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust. The Trust is responsible for eight academies, 3,500 pupils and 750 staff with a commitment to making a significant and lifelong difference to the lives of young people from some of Bristol’s most disadvantaged communities.

A unique and exciting opportunity as a non-teaching Head of Year has arisen at Montpelier High School. The successful candidate will need to be supportive, resilient, have great listening skills and promote a positive growth-mindset.

The role will involve providing support and guidance to young people and those engaged with them, by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve their potential.

The successful candidate will have:

  • GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent qualification
  • NVQ3 in teaching and learning/Pastoral or equivalent qualification
  • Level 3 Safeguarding training or willingness to undertake training
  • Experience of working effectively supporting children or young people in the workplace.
  • Ability to communicate and relate to staff, students and parents alike.
  • Effective use of ICT and technology.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team.
