Culture and Identity Day 2025

Montpelier High School and V6 Sixth Form came alive once again for our annual Culture and Identity Day, a vibrant celebration of the rich diversity that defines our school community. The event was a colourful showcase of traditional attire, sports teams, band t-shirts, global cuisine, music, cultural dance and fashion parades representing regions across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Europe.

From the moment students arrived, they were greeted by a lively playlist of world music that set the tone for the day. The corridors buzzed with excitement and pride as students and staff reflected on the success of previous years and embraced the spirit of this year’s festivities. Ms Spence also brought some flair to the dining rooms at lunch service that day with her delicious Carribean cookery for all to experience.

A highlight of the day was the Culture Day Showcase, where students from all year groups proudly wore outfits that reflected their heritage and gave enthusiastic perfomances to cheering audiences during lunchtime. The event brought together our entire school community in a joyful celebration of identity, inclusion, and unity.

Assistant Headteacher Mrs. Rowe said "The events of the entire day were fantastic! We are proud to celebrate the diversity, inclusivity and positive energy we have within our community. A huge thanks goes out to our student DEI team as well as the fantastic head students who helped coordinate thes events. A special mention also goes to Andy and the Aspens Catering Team for the most impressive selection of delicious food for our students to enjoy for lunch.

Culture and Identity Day continues to be a cherished tradition at Montpelier High School and V6 Sixth Form, reminding us of the strength and beauty found in our differences."
